NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The first major trip of the fall experience is this weekend, as the Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team will travel out east to Buffalo, New York, to take on the Canadian National Team for a pair of games at 2 p.m. amd 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 7. The contests will take place at All-High Stadium. Tickets to the event are $5.
The scrimmages against the Canadians will mark the second time Notre Dame has played a national team this calendar year, as the Irish faced Team USA in Bradenton, Florida, on January 15.
The program has a history of playing national teams. The Irish have also played the Iroquois Nationals in 2009, the Canadian National Team in 2008 and the national teams from Italy, England and Norway in the summer of 2014. Notre Dame and Team USA have met on multiple occasions.
“We are excited about heading to Buffalo to play the Canadian National Team,” said Corrigan. “That is going to be a purely competitive opportunity for us. We will get to actually play their 40-man roster right now that they will reduce for the World Games next summer. This trip is part of their selection process and we will get to play two games against two 20-man squads and that will be a great day of competition in Buffalo.”
Following the scrimmage against Team Canada, the Irish return to campus for the final week of classes before embarking on its next trip of the fall semester to San Francisco.
