NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame senior Eric Maust had thrown 5.0 scoreless innings and the Irish led Cincinnati, 3-0, in the middle of the fifth inning when rain forced postponement of the contest until Noon on Sunday. The game will resume with Notre Dame due up in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Maust had equaled his career-high with six strikeouts. He had limited the Bearcats to just four hits and one walk.

Senior left fielder Ryan Connolly was 3-for-3 with a run scored, while freshman second baseman Frank Desico was 1-for-3 with and RBI and junior third baseman Greg Sherry was 1-for-2 with a run scored and RBI.

If future inclement weather prevents the game from resuming on Sunday, the Irish would win the contest, 3-0, as Cincinnati has batted the minimum amount of times for an official game to be considered.
