NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Just two weeks after spending the weekend on Long Island and in the Bronx for two scrimmages, a lacrosse clinic and the Alumni Game, the program’s sophomores and juniors return to the Big Apple, but this time for business.

The student-athletes will look to continue expanding their connections with the eighth annual New York City Networking Trip on Oct. 19-20. Exclusively for the junior class, the trip offers a full day of networking with firms and Notre Dame alumni from various industries, such as finance, media and commercial real estate. The trip is designed to give each player an opportunity to land an internship at one of the top companies or firms in his desired field.

“I think the trip is important for our kids and if it’s important for our kids then it’s important for our program,” said Corrigan. “The guys are here to get a great education, have a great experience and set themselves up for the rest of their lives. We want to make sure they get the opportunity to do that in New York, Chicago and anywhere else that we travel.”

The day will start with a focus on the business world, as the team will be Morgan Stanley from 7:30-9 a.m. From there the team will transition to the entertainment sector, as it will stop in at NBC Universal from 9:30-11 a.m. The final morning location will be tailored for those focused on real estate, as the team will be at Jones Lang LaSalle from 11:30-1 p.m.

After the team makes stops at the three locations the student-athletes will have the opportunity to job shadow with Notre Dame alums in various industries. Some of the copanies include Shazam, J.P. Morgan, NBA, Yankees, SportsNet New York, NBC, IBM, Jefferies, Jones Lang LaSalle, Credit Suisse, Axonic Capital, Morgan Stanley, JMP Securities and SportsRecruits.

The busy day will conclude with a reception downtown at the New York Athletic Club from 6-8 p.m. where members of the team will be able to further connections made throughout the day.

The Notre Dame men’s lacrosse staff dedicates time each fall to organizing two premier trips for the season. The New York Networking event has developed into a staple for the program. Last year, the team visited Washington, D.C. and other locations in the past have included Denver, Colorado; Minneapolis, Minnesota; San Francisco, California and Seattle, Washington.

The University of Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team pursues excellence on and off the field through the three pillars in which the program is built: Character, Culture & Community. These three foundational values guide the promise of the program, which is to provide its student-athletes with the most compelling and enriching experience in all of college athletics. Through academics, competition, service and travel, the program aims to immerse its players in situations that enhance their student-athlete experience to help them become the people, students and teammates they aspire to be.
