Notre Dame Honored For Academic Success

Aug. 11, 2014 NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The 2014 season was one of continued on-the-field success for the Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team, which was selected as an NCAA first and second round host site and peaked at No. 6 in the national polls. What was not seen was the concurrent continued success of the program off of the field.

The Irish were recognized by the IWLCA on Monday as an Academic Honor Squad. Schools qualify for this list by having a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Irish have now received this status in each of Christine Halfpenny’s three years as head coach at Notre Dame, seasons which all ended with an NCAA Tournament berth as well.
