Notre Dame Hockey Featured In "Shipping Up To Boston," presented by Coca-Cola

Jan. 15, 2014

Notre Dame, Ind. – For the second straight season the University of Notre Dame hockey team has taken the ice in an iconic outdoor venue against a rival opponent–this year (Jan. 4) in Boston’s Fenway Park. Fighting Irish Digital Media (FIDM), in partnership with 3 Penny Films, has produced a half-hour, behind-the-scenes film titled “Shipping Up To Boston,” presented by Coca-Cola.

The show, premiering at 10 p.m. EST on Friday, Jan. 17, on NBC Sports Network (NBCSN), takes viewers behind the scenes with the Irish, first as they prepare for their trip to Boston and the Frozen Fenway experience and then their actual visit to the historic ball park, the home of the reigning World Series champion Boston Red Sox. “Shipping Up To Boston,” presented by Coca-Cola presents an insider’s view of Irish head coach Jeff Jackson and the character of his hockey team as they face the hometown Eagles in an important Hockey East showdown under lights of Fenway Park.

The show will air immediately after NBCSN’s 7:30 p.m. EST broadcast of the Lake Superior State versus Notre Dame hockey game from the Compton Family Ice Arena on the Notre Dame campus and will re-air at the following times on NBCSN:

• January 23 at 1:30am

• January 29 at 12:30am

• February 8 at 10:30pm

Notre Dame’s hockey team took on CCHA rival Miami University (Ohio) outdoors in Chicago’s Soldier Field last year and came away with a 2-1 victory. FIDM and 3 Penny Films captured that experience in a show titled “Sweet Home Chicago” that also aired on NBCSN and is now available at WatchND.
