The University of Notre Dame is still seeking teams wishing to participate in the 2006 Notre Dame Football 7 on 7 Tournament sponsored by adidas, slated to be held June 23-24 at Cartier Field on the Notre Dame campus. As all of the 2006 Irish football camps are completely sold out, this represents the final opportunity for youngsters to be tutored by members of the Notre Dame football staff this summer.
Entrants are taken for teams only (not on an individual basis). Teams must consist only of football players who will have completed the eighth grade by June of 2006.
The tournament is scheduled to run from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. EST on Friday, June 23, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, June 24. Members of the Irish football coaching staff will tutor participants in the tournament.
The tournament registration fee has three options: a $30 non-boarder rate that includes a Friday night barbecue; a $50 non-boarder rate that includes the Friday barbecue, Saturday breakfast and lunch; and a $100 rate for boarders (includes all meals).
Each participant will receive a t-shirt, sack pack, plus admission to the Friday evening barbecue for all coaches and players and admittance to the adidas village (including demonstrations, video games, products, music and skills competitions). Teams are guaranteed a minimum of four games. Every game will be played utilizing licensed football officials.
