SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – Jack Cooley scored 22 points and dominated inside Saturday, leading Notre Dame to a 65-47 win over Dartmouth.
Cooley added nine rebounds and four blocks while helping the Fighting Irish (7-4) outscore Dartmouth 36-16 in the paint. Alex Dragicevich scored 15 points, and Joey Brooks chipped in 13.
Gabas Maldunas led Dartmouth (2-6) with 12 points and was the only Big Green player in double figures. Dartmouth shot just 30 percent from the field.
With Scott Martin sidelined after sustaining a mild concussion in the previous game, Notre Dame used its seventh different starting lineup of the season. Notre Dame’s leading scorers heading into the game, Eric Atkins and Jerian Grant, were held scoreless.
Notre Dame closed the first half on an 18-9 run to lead 37-24 at halftime. The Irish led by as many as 22 in the second half and scored 19 points off turnovers.
