Notre Dame vs. Monmouth Box Score

HONOLULU (AP) – Ryan Humphrey scored 21 points to lead Notre Dame over Monmouth 85-48 Sunday night in the championship game of the Hawaii Pacific Thanksgiving Classic.

Humphrey, who was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, scored eight points in the final seven minutes of the first half, and Notre Dame (5-0) led 36-23 at intermission.

He remained hot to start the second half, hitting three straight baskets to give the Irish a 42-29 lead.

Notre Dame continued to build its lead until the final buzzer. The final score was the its biggest advantage of the game.

Notre Dame shot 54 percent (33-for-61) overall to Monmouth’s 32 percent (20-for-63). The Irish outrebounded the Hawks 48-26.

Kevin Owens had 10 points to lead the Hawks (3-1).

Matt Carroll and David Graves each added 15 points for the Irish. They joined Humphrey on the all-tournament team, along with teammate Chris Thomas, Monmouth’s Rahsaan Johnson and Jason Krayl, Vanderbilt’s Matt Freije and Brendan Plavich, Tennessee-Chattanooga’s Neil Ashby, Hampton’s Tommy Adams and Hawaii Pacific’s Nash Subotic.
