Notre Dame Concludes First Day Of Meyo Invitational

Notre Dame, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s and women’s track and field team concluded the first day of the Meyo Invitational at the Loftus Sports Center in Notre Dame, Ind. Rebecca Tracy (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) logged another first-place finish. The sophomore ran 2:48.18 in the 1,000-meter run.

Notre Dame Women’s Results

Long Jump – Jasmine Williams was the 25th-place finisher, jumping 5.53m to mark a BIG EAST qualifying time, followed by Lauren Leniart in 45th place (4.89).

Weight Throw – Mason Bashaw finished in 21st place (15.17m) and Vivien Devaney finished 30th (14.22m).

High Jump – Kendra Jennings finished in 17th place (1.63m).

5,000-Meter Run – Rachel Velarde finished 16th in 17:13.83, followed by Erica Watson in 21st place (17:24.15) and Susanna Sullivan in 37th place in 18:00.88. Velarde and Watson both clocked BIG EAST qualifying times.

60-Meter Hurdles Trials – Kali Watkins fnished in 33rd place in 9.07.

60-Meter Dash Trials – Aijah Urssery finished in 15th place in 7.75, a BIG EAST qualifying time, while Jessie Christian ran 8.22 for 49th place.

Women’s 1,000-Meter Run – Rebecca Tracy was the first-place finisher in 2:48.18, followed by McKinzie Schulz in third place (2:51.45) and Abby Higgins in fourth place (2:52.58). Kelly Curran and Alexa Aragon finished in fifth (2:53.30) and seventh (2:54.47), in that order. Allison Schroeder rounded out the Irish competitors, finishing 11th in 2:56.10. All of the times were BIG EAST qualifying times.

Women’s 500-Meter Dash – Natalie Johnson was the fourth-place finisher in 1:14.88, while Natalie Geiger finished 20th in 1:19.36.

Notre Dame Men’s Results

Men’s Long Jump – Logan Renwick finished in 15th place (6.68m), followed by Patrick Glass in 20th place, jumping 6.59m. Alex Bavis and Justin Schneider finished in 25th place (6.07m) and 26th place (5.53m), respectively.

Men’s Weight Throw – Greg Davis finished in fourth place (19.12m), followed by John Belcher in ninth place (17.52m) and Denes Veres in 12th place (16.61m). Mike Smigelski, Andrew Hills and Anthony Thomas finished in 14th (16.29m), 15th (16.00m) and 21st (14.51m), in that order.

Men’s Pole Vault – Kevin Schipper placed third, vaulting 5.05m, followed by Andrew Kolbeck in 18th place (4.60m) and Justin Schneider also placing 18th (4.60m). The all three posted BIG EAST qualifying times.

Men’s 5,000-Meter Run – Dan Jackson was the third-place finisher in 14:20.83, followed by Kelly Lynch in 14:29.64 (seventh place) and Ryan Jacobs in ninth place in 14:31.10. The trio clocked BIG EAST qualifying times. Thomas Pesch finished 24th in 14:59.83, while Walter Schafer and Thomas Noel finished in 28th (15:11.92) and 34th (15:37.48), respectively.

Men’s 60-Meter Hurdle Trials – Justin Schneider finished 26th (8.67), followed by Alex Bavis in 31st place (9.37) and Dean Odegard in 32nd place (9.60).

Men’s 60-Meter Dash Trials – Miklos Szebeny finished in 32nd place in 7.14 and Sean Lindbloom stopped the clock at 7.32 for 45th place.

Men’s 500-Meter Run – Mitch Lorenz finished in fifth place in 1:04.90, while Jack Howard finished sixth (1:05.07). Matthew Brown finished ninth (1:06.25) and Eric Roth finished 10th in 1:06.43.
