NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s and women’s basketball teams held their annual Media Day activities on Wednesday afternoon inside Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. In addition to press conferences with head coaches Mike Brey and Muffet McGraw, the players and staff for both teams were available for interviews with members of the media. What’s more, the men’s basketball team took its 2011-12 team photo (the women will take theirs on Thursday), as well as a handful of group photos, with Mike Bennett and his talented crew from Lighthouse Imaging in Mishawaka, Ind.

Both Notre Dame basketball teams held their first offical practices last week in accordance with NCAA regulations. The Fighting Irish men are preparing for their 2011-12 exhibition opener at 7:30 p.m. (ET) Nov. 1 against St. Xavier at Purcell Pavilion. The Notre Dame women’s basketball team will take the court for the first time at 7 p.m. (ET) on Nov. 2 when it plays host to reigning Canadian national champion Windsor in an exhibition game, also at Purcell Pavilion.
