Feb. 15, 2005

Fans of the Notre Dame baseball team again will be able to follow the Irish throughout the 2005 season via South Bend-based ESPN Radio 1580 (WDND), with live internet broadcasts also available on und.com. Notre Dame again holds the rare distinction of having its entire 56-game regular season (and all postseason action) carried live on commercial radio.

A handful of early-season games will be shifted to WDND’s sister station, 1490 WNDV, to accomodate any schedule conflicts with the Notre Dame women’s basketball and hockey broadcasts. Games on 1490 will be broadcast live and also will be available online at und.com (to College Sports Pass subscribers, see audio/video link on und.com main page for more info.).

College Sports Pass subscribers are able to listen to audio (and view select video offerings) for a variety of Notre Dame sports – plus a wide assortment of other schools that are part of the College Sports Pass lineup. Game broadcasts and video features also are archived on the respective sites and can be accessed by active Sports Pass subscribers.

The official Notre Dame website – www.und.com – also will again provide GameTracker live stats for all home games and select parts of the road schedule. Live-stats on the road typically are provided by the host school and und.com often will provide them as a bonus offering if phone lines are available (fans are reminded that these stats typically are transmitted via dial-up connections that may delay or interrupt the updating process).

Links for the 2005 audio and stats will be posted this week on the baseball schedule at und.com. Plans are in the works to again use a special cell-phone adapter to provide the audio broadcasts from sites (Evansville and Pittsburgh) where phone lines may not be available. At this time, it is not anticipated that live-stats will be available for the games played at those two sites but in-game updates then would be posted on the ND Sports Hotline (574-613-3000).
