NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame’s Jan. 5 visit to North Carolina will kick off ESPN’s 2015 Big Monday Presented by Verizon men’s college basketball schedule.
ESPN Big Monday is a weekly doubleheader featuring teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the Big 12 that begins January 5 and concludes on March 2. The Monday night games showcase the ACC in the 7 p.m. (ET) window, followed by the Big 12 at 9 p.m. This season marks the 19th year the Big 12 has had a presence on Big Monday, dating back to the league’s inception in 1996-97. Last year saw the debut of the ACC on the Big Monday series.
Big Monday will take a one-week hiatus as ESPN debuts the inaugural College Football National Championship game on January 12.
Every game on the Big Monday schedule features at least one team ranked in the ESPN.com men’s preseason top 25 poll.
Overall, ESPN networks will offer more than 100 games from both conferences during the 2014-15 season. Full conference schedules will be announced at a later date. ESPN’s 2013-14 season was the most-viewed and highest-rated regular season ever.
All Big Monday telecasts will also be available through WatchESPN, accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app, and streamed on televisions through Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 or Xbox One to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.
The Jan. 5 showdown will be a rematch of a Big Monday battle from last season when the Tar Heels clipped the Irish, 63-61, on March 3 in Chapel Hill. Notre Dame’s entire 2014-15 slate will be unveiled at a later date.
