NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s and women’s basketball teams each will have their own exclusive radio outlet in South Bend for the 2007-08 season, it was announced Wednesday by Notre Dame Sports Properties.

Every Irish men’s basketball game, beginning with the exhibition opener Nov. 2 at 9 p.m. (ET) against St. Ambrose (Iowa), will be heard live in South Bend on U93-FM (92.9), with Jack Nolan set to begin his second season as the play-by-play voice of Notre Dame men’s basketball and former Irish All-American LaPhonso Ellis once again providing expert analysis. U93-FM will be an affiliate on the Notre Dame Radio Network, with WLS-AM (890) in Chicago serving as the flagship station.

In addition, U93 will be the new home for the Mike Brey Radio Show, which will air live each Monday at 7:30 p.m. (ET) during the basketball season.

Meanwhile, all Irish women’s basketball games will now be heard live on WZOW-FM (97.7 and 102.3) in South Bend, beginning with the exhibition opener Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. (ET) against Southern Indiana. Sean Stires is preparing for his eighth season calling Notre Dame women’s basketball games, which will reach an expanded audience of more than one million listeners in a 150-mile radius beginning this season.

All Notre Dame men’s and women’s basketball broadcasts also will be continue to be available live and free of charge worldwide on the Internet through the official Irish athletics web site, UND.com.
