Notre Dame Announces 2015 Football Staff Changes

March 2, 2015

Two former Irish All-Americans – Todd Lyght and Autry Denson – are among additions to the University of Notre Dame football coaching staff that will boast 168 combined seasons of experience among the assistant coaches heading into the 2015 campaign.

Irish head football coach Brian Kelly presented his 2015 coaching staff to the media Monday inside Isban Auditorium at the Guglielmino Athletics Complex.

Kelly named Mike Denbrock associate head coach/wide receivers coach, Mike Elston recruiting coordinator/linebackers coach, former Boise State offensive coordinator Mike Sanford offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, former Notre Dame All-America cornerback Todd Lyght defensive backs coach, former Irish All-America running back Autry Denson running backs coach and Keith Gilmore defensive line coach.

Kelly also announced that Bob Elliott, who spent the three previous years either coaching safeties or outside linebackers for the Irish, will assume a new role with the program as Notre Dame’s special assistant to the head coach.

Two former Irish football captains will return to their alma mater: Maurice Crum Jr. (2005-08) will serve as a defensive graduate assistant, while Ron Powlus (1994-97) will act as director of player development. Powlus previously served as the Notre Dame quarterbacks coach (2007-09) and director of player development (2005-06).

Former University of Wisconsin offensive lineman Donovan Raiola has been hired as an offensive graduate assistant.
