PUERTO RICO – After rain washed out the University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team’s Puerto Rican doubleheader Tuesday, the No. 40 Irish returned to the court Friday to face LIU Brooklyn, defeating the Blackbirds 7-0 as they wrap up their Caribbean stay.

The Irish swept matches at all nine singles and doubles positions. Senior Quinn Gleason and junior Monica Robinson defeated Anna Grigoryan and Caroline Koenigsfeldt 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, senior Julie Vrabel and junior Mary Closs upended Malin Leysen and Isabella Wagener 6-1 at No. 2 and junior Jane Fennelly and sophomore Brooke Broda swept Rianne van Son and Meriam Rhallab 6-0 at No. 3.

In singles, No. 44 Gleason beat Grigoryan 6-1, 6-3 at the top slot, while No. 53 Robinson cruised by Koenigsfeldt 6-1, 6-2 on Court 2. Sophomore Allison Miller defeated Leysen 6-3, 6-3, and Closs blasted van Son in a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Broda remained undefeated on the spring, besting Rhallab 6-1, 6-1 on Court 5, while freshman Rachel Chong saw her first action of the dual match season in a 6-1, 6-1 win over Wagener at No. 6.

The Irish return to ACC action at 3:30 p.m. ET Friday when they welcome Wake Forest to the Courtney Tennis Center.
