No. 30 Irish Meet No. 62 Northwestern In Chicago On Tuesday

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The No. 30 Notre Dame men’s tennis team concludes its six-match road swing on Tuesday as it meets No. 62 Northwestern at 6:30 p.m. (ET) at Combe Tennis Center.

Northwestern (5-0) has had a pretty manageable schedule thus far having handled Ball State, UIC, William & Mary and Western Michigan by a combined score of 24-4, while also knocking off Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala., 4-3.

Leading the way for the Wildcats is No. 97 Spencer Wolf (4-1) and three undefeated singles players in Josh Graves (5-0), Nikhil Jayashankar (4-0) and Raleigh Smith (5-0).

The Irish are coming off a split weekend in North Carolina, where they dropped No. 39 Wake Forest, 6-1, before falling to No. 10 Duke by the same score. Sophomore Greg Andrews continues to lead the way with a 7-1 mark at No. 2 singles. Also performing well at singles is Blas Moros (6-2) who has earned wins at four, five and six singles.

In doubles the Irish continue to struggle with a 4-4 mark on the year. They are 4-0 when they win the doubles point, but 1-3 when they lose it. Northwestern is 5-0 in doubles so far this season.

Following the match with the Wildcats, Notre Dame finally returns home to Eck Tennis Center with a trio of matches this weekend. The Irish play host to Wisconsin at 4 p.m. on Friday and No. 7 Kentucky (12 p.m.) and IUPUI (6 p.m.) on Sunday.
