No. 24 Notre Dame Faces Marquette At Home

March 25, 2014

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team comes home this week after playing exclusively on the road for the past two. The 24th-ranked Irish will face Marquette tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.

“We are extremely excited to be back home for a while,” says head coach Jay Louderback. “With all of the travel and away matches, our team has continued to have a great upbeat attitude and the fight we have shown is exciting.”

Notre Dame is coming off two hard losses to top-ranked Virginia and North Carolina, although before that they were on a 3-0 winning streak over spring break.

The Golden Eagles are currently 8-6 on the season and are hoping to continue a two-match winning streak (sweeps over Illinois State and IUPUI) as they travel to South Bend.

“Our matches with Marquette are always tough ones as they compete really well,” Louderback adds. “They always have very solid doubles teams and are well coached, so we must start quickly and try to stay on top of them.”

The action gets started at 3:30 with live stats and after the match results available on UND.com.
