Feb. 21, 2013

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team welcomes No. 19 Baylor Saturday at 10 a.m. for a non-conference match-up inside the Eck Tennis Pavilion. The match was originally scheduled for Friday at 5 p.m.

The No. 22 Irish (5-3) look to snap a two-match losing streak after dropping a 4-3 decision to No. 24 Purdue Feb. 15 and a 5-2 tilt at No. 10 Northwestern Feb. 17. Notre Dame bounced back in fine fashion the last time it experienced losses in consecutive matches, winning seven straight contests from April 9 to May 11 last season.

Baylor (4-5) enters Saturday’s match with a slim 5-4 series lead all-time against Notre Dame, winning its last three outings against the Irish. The then No. 12 Bears defeated 18th-ranked Notre Dame 6-1 April 7, 2012 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas. Head coach Jay Louderback has been at the helm of the Irish during each of the previous nine matches with Baylor (4-5).

After a quick turnaround, Notre Dame travels to Bloomington to face off with No. 60 Indiana Sunday at 11 a.m. inside the IU Tennis Center. The Hoosiers are coming off a pair of narrow 4-3 defeats at the hands of No. 26 Tennessee (Feb. 15) and No. 63 Kentucky (Feb. 17) last weekend.

Notre Dame has controlled the recent series history against Indiana, winning its last 10 meetings with the Hoosiers. The Irish last fell in Bloomington on April 23, 1995 (6-3). Louderback is 16-7 against Indiana during his Notre Dame tenure. Live results from Friday’s match will be available at .
