NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team returns home after a three-match road trip to host Michigan Wednesday at 4 p.m. inside Eck Tennis Pavilion. The Irish have not played on their home court since meeting No. 2 Duke on March 3.

Notre Dame (11-5), ranked 16th in this week’s ITA poll, won the final two matches of its spring break road swing, defeating UAB 7-0 (March 14) and No. 25 Georgia Tech 5-2 (March 16). The win over the Yellow Jackets was the seventh Notre Dame team victory over a ranked opponent this season.

No. 10 Michigan (11-3) has won six straight matches, including a 4-3 victory over Duke March 1. The Wolverines are winners of eight of their last 10 contests overall, with seven such wins by two or more points.

The Irish lead the all-time series between the teams 22-11, and are 20-6 against the Wolverines during the Jay Louderback era. Michigan has won the past two meetings, including a 5-2 decision last season at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor. Britney Sanders earned the lone Notre Dame singles triumph during the match, sweeping then No. 124 Mimi Nguyen in straight sets 6-2, 7-6 (7-4).
