Fans of the Notre Dame baseball team will have plenty of chances to see the Irish on national and regional television in upcoming weeks, as nine games involving Notre Dame will be telecast in the one-month stretch from April 20 to May 20. Most notably, all three games of Notre Dame’s series at St. John’s (May 7-8) will be aired live, respectively on ESPNU, ESPN2 and CSTV.
Detroit-based Comcast Local will telecast six Notre Dame baseball games live throughout the state of Michigan and in South Bend on Comcast Cable channel 3. Those games also will be aired on a tape-delayed basis by Comcast SportsNet Chicago and possibly by other Comcast affiliates (consult your local Comcast listings and check back to und.com during the next month for any additional affiliate broadcast information that Comcast Local is able to provide).
The first Comcast Local telecast will be the ND-Purdue game on Wed., April 20, at South Bend’s minor-league Coveleski Stadium (6:05 EST; 7:05 in Michigan). Two days later, CL will air the Friday-night game between Notre Dame and Villanova at Eck Stadium (6:05 EST). The other Comcast Local telecasts include: the annual Baseball Bash game between ND and Michigan at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in the Grand Rapids suburbs, on May 11 (7:00 EDT; 6:00 EST/in South Bend); the May 18 game at Eck Stadium between the Irish and USC (6:05 EST); and the Friday-night doubleheader at The Eck on May 20 between ND and West Virginia (3:05 EST)
All three games of the ND-St. John’s series will be nine-inning games, due to a full break (i.e. longer than 30 minutes) between the first and second games on Sat., May 7. The first game (noon EDT; 11:00 a.m. EST/in South Bend) will be shown live on ESPNU while the second game (6:00 EDT) will be aired live on ESPN2.
The ND-SJU series finale, on Sun., May 8 (noon EDT), will be telecast live on College Sports Television (CSTV). All three games also could be rebroadcast (on ESPNU or CSTV, check listings and look for later info. on und.com).
