Notre Dame, Ind. – Nicole Alexander has been named assistant athletic trainer at the University of Notre Dame. Alexander will be working with Notre Dame’s softball and men’s and women’s fencing teams. She also will assist with the day-to-day operations within the athletic training department.

Alexander spent the last two years as a graduate assistant at Syracuse University and served as the athletic trainer for the field hockey, tennis and women’s rowing and men’s and women’s track and field programs. She also provided athletic training to youth camps and clinics and assisted the full-time staff in coverage of the daily doctor’s clinic.

Prior to her stint at Syracuse, Alexander served as a student athletic trainer at the University of Florida. While in Gainesville, she also assisted with sporting events at the local high school and community colleges and the Gator cheer and spirit squads.

Alexander received her master’s in exercise science from Syracuse University in May 2008. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree in applied physiology and kinesiology, specializing in athletic training from Florida in 2005.
