LA QUINTA, Calif. – In the third and final round of The Prestige, the Notre Dame men’s golf team moved up two spots in the standings to finish in 12th place. The highlight of the tournament came in the form of freshman Taichi Kho. The Hong Kong native shot a 70 (-1) on Wednesday to finish with a 219 (+6), coming in 24th place.
“Not the finish we were looking for but a lot of positives to take away from this week that will help us continue to improve this spring. It’s our first event and great to build from,” Notre Dame head coach John Handrigan said. “It was a great last two days for Taichi and impressive for a freshman in that field and difficulty of course.”
Round Three
Kho, who shot even-par in round two and moved up 22 spots in the standings, improved by one stroke in round three, advancing another 20 spots to earn his second top-25 finish on the year. Kho recorded four birdies on the round, including three on the back nine, before finishing one-under on the day.
Davis Lamb suffered a bogey on the par-four 10th to start the day, then bounced back with 11 straight pars, followed by a birdie on the par-three fourth. Lamb then ran into trouble on holes five and six, resulting in a three-over par round. Furthermore, Lamb totaled a 222 (+9) for the tournament, coming in 39th place.
Miguel Delgado started strong on the back nine, where he went two-under par to start, before a tough front nine made him finish two-over on the round. Delgado finished third in the Irish lineup and 43rd overall with a 223 (+10).
Next, John Felitto posted the final score which counted toward Notre Dame, tallying a 77 (+6). Felitto finished in 66th with a 230 (+17). Lastly, Hunter Ostrom shot a 80 (+9), finishing with a 233 (+20)

The Irish will return home for a few weeks before returning to action at The Schenkel, taking place March 15-17, in Statesboro, Georgia.
