NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s lacrosse program and Baumer Family Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Kevin Corrigan released the 2019 schedule, a 12-game slate that features seven games at Arlotta Stadium and Loftus Sports Center. The Irish enter the season ranked in the top 10 again, earning the No. 6 ranking from Inside Lacrosse and No. 8 from US Lacrosse Magazine.
“I don’t think there is any question that we play the most difficult schedule in the country,” said Corrigan. “I think we play the best teams from every league. If you look whom we have played from the fall up to the NCAA Tournament we will have played the best teams in the country. I think that is the challenge and exciting opportunity that our guys look forward to.”
The Irish have reached 13 consecutive NCAA Championships and have played in eight of the last nine quarterfinals entering the 2019 season. Notre Dame is set to return four of its top five returning goal scorers from last season and its entire close defense and goalie.
TOUGHEST SCHEDULE IN THE COUNTRY
Notre Dame always challenges itself with by playing one of the toughest schedules in the country and the 2019 slate will be no different. Of Notre Dame’s 12 regular-season opponents, nine are in the top 20 of Inside Lacrosse’s preseason rankings. The Irish are set to face five opponents ranked in the top 10 of the poll, as Notre Dame will face No. 2 Duke, No. 3 Maryland, No. 5 Cornell, No. 7 Denver and No. 8 Virginia. Notre Dame will also square off against No. 11 Syracuse, No. 16 North Carolina, No. 17 Ohio State and No. 19 Michigan.
BACK-LOADED HOME SLATE
Five of the final six games of the regular-season schedule will take place at Notre Dame. The Irish close the 2019 season with home contests against Ohio State (March 23), Syracuse (March 30), Marquette (April 10), Cornell (April 14) and UNC (April 20).
PACIFIC COAST SHOOTOUT
For the third time in program history, the Irish will take part in the annual Pacific Coast Shootout on March 9, as Notre Dame faces Denver at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California. The game will start at 10 p.m. ET and tickets can be purchased here. The Irish are 1-1 when playing in the Pacific Coast Shootout, winning their most recent game against Maryland by a final score of 9-4 on March 5, 2016.
B1G NON-CONFERENCE BATTLES
Three of Notre Dame’s eight non-conference games will be played against teams from the Big Ten. The Irish will play both Maryland (March 3) and Ohio State (March 23) at Arlotta Stadium. Notre Dame travels to Michigan in a midweek matchup (March 21). The Irish played all three teams in the regular season in 2017 and 2018 and have gone a combined 4-2 against the opposition over the two-year span.
ROAD WORK AHEAD
The Irish have five road games on the 2019 schedule, four coming against teams that played in the 2018 NCAA tournament. The first road test of the season comes at Richmond on February 23. Notre Dame has a tough road swing during spring break, as the team travels to California to play Denver in the Pacific Coast Shootout (March 9) and then to Virginia (March 16) for the ACC opener. Notre Dame is also slated to take on Michigan (March 20) and then wraps up its regular-season road schedule with a game against Duke (April 6.
REGULAR SEASON HOME FINALE
The Irish seniors will take the field of Arlotta Stadium for their final regular season game on April 20, as Notre Dame faces UNC in the finale. The Irish will be looking for revenge, as the team fell at UNC last season.
TOURNEY TIME
The first two rounds of the annual ACC Tournament will be held on UNC’s campus in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The No. 4 vs. No. 5 matchup will take place on Thursday, April 25 with the semifinal rounds scheduled for Saturday, April 27. The title game will be played at the campus of the highest remaining seed on Saturday, May 4. The Irish are the defending champions of the ACC Championships.
PRESEASON EXHIBITION
The Irish will host two preseason scrimmages prior to the 2019 regular season schedule. Notre Dame will take on Air Force on Saturday, Jan. 26 in Loftus Sports Center as part of the annual NDLaxTV Coaching Clinic weekend.

Selfie Sunday – Meet the Team on February 3
On Sunday, February 3, the men’s lacrosse team will host an intrasquad scrimmage at the Loftus Center from 11am to 1:30pm. After the scrimmage, fans will have the chance to meet the team, take selfies with the players and get autographs. Season tickets will also be on sale.
