Twenty Former Players Headed To NHL Training Camps

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Twenty former Notre Dame hockey players are participating in various National Hockey League training camps.
 
Several players are looking to catch on with their respective NHL teams, while others are gearing up for another season in the NHL.
 
The rookies who have headed to camp include Jake Evans (Montreal), Dennis Gilbert (Chicago), Jordan Gross (Arizona), Andrew Oglevie (Buffalo) and Justin Wade (Columbus).
 
Last season seven former Notre Dame hockey players made opening night NHL rosters including Anders Bjork, Ian Cole, Stephen Johns, Anders Lee, Kyle Palmieri, Bryan Rust and Riley Sheahan.
 
Seventeen of Notre Dame head coach Jeff Jackson’s Irish players have gone on to play in the NHL, while 31 players in program history have skated in an NHL game as well.
