Quick Turnaround for Irish at Northern Intercollegiate

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – With just three days in-between tournaments, the University of Notre Dame men’s golf team makes the quick turnaround in competing at the Northern Intercollegiate. Rich Harvest Farms, which was home to the 2017 NCAA Championships, is a 7,281-yard, par-72, golf course.
 
Teams will play two rounds on Saturday, followed by the final round on Sunday. The tournament is free and open to the public, while free parking can be found at 45W741 Granart Rd. For those fans who can’t make it, live scoring will be available via Golfstat.com.
 
THE FIELD
Augusta, Aurora, Coastal Carolina, Grand Canyon, Marquette, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, No. 47 Missouri, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Toledo, UMKC, Wisconsin and host NIU. In addition, UCLA will have individual competitors.
 
THE IRISH FIVE
Representing the Irish this weekend will be Davis Chatfield, Davis Lamb, Taichi Kho, Andrew O’Leary and Miguel Delgado. Individually, Hunter Ostrom and Kevin Conners will be competing as well.
 
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
The future of the Notre Dame golf program shone bright in the first tournament of the 2018-19 season as the squad’s two freshmen, Taichi Kho and Andrew O’Leary, posted top-25 finishes. Kho shot one-over par (217) while O’Leary followed close behind at four-over par (220).
 
Rounding out the solid performances from last week was Davis Lamb, who tied for 16th at two-over par (218).
