Irish In Seventh At Minnesota Invitational

WOODBURY, Minn. — On Monday, the Notre Dame women’s golf team opened the 2018-19 season with the first two rounds of the Minnesota Invitational and are alone in seventh in the 15-team field with one round remaining.

The Irish opened with a morning round of 292 at the Prestwick Golf Club (par 72/ 6,479 yards) and followed with an afternoon 295. San Jose (282-287-569) leads the tournament, followed by East Carolina (288-282-570).

Senior Isabella DiLisio (71-76-147) and freshman Claire Albrecht (75-72-147) paced the Irish on day one and are tied for 30th. DiLisio’s opening round 71 was the top Notre Dame round of the day, while Claire Albrecht’s second round 72 tied with senior Maddie Rose Hamilton for the top afternoon round by an Irish player. DiLisio’s eight bridies on the day tied for fifth in the field, while Hamilton’s 27 pars also tied for fifth best.

Hamilton (76-72-148) and classmate Emma Albrecht (73-75-148) are tied for 38th. Sophomore Abby Heck (73-76-149) is tied for 43rd.

Tuesday’s final round will feature a 10:15 a.m. ET shotgun start and live scoring will be available via Golfstat.com. The Irish will be playing with Oklahoma and Missouri and will start on holes 11-15.
