Irish Show Improvement in Round Two

MADISON, Wis. – The University of Notre Dame men’s golf team improved their team score by 10 strokes in the second round of the Badger Invitational, recording a 292 (+4) on Monday at the University Ridge Golf Course. Davis Lamb once again spearheaded play for the Irish, carding a two-under par (70) for the round.

As a result, Lamb’s overall score improved to one-under par, which sits six strokes back from the leader in 11th place.

Yet, the best round of the day for the Irish belonged to Taichi Kho, who is competing as an individual. The freshman tallied five birdies on the day before finishing with a 69 (-3). Kho now jumps into a tie for 12th place.

Davis Chatfield’s even round of 72 counted towards the team’s score. After starting four-over par on the back-nine, Chatfield rebounded with three straight birdies on the front where he posted a bogey-free nine-hole stretch.

Miguel Delgado’s 77 (+5) was the fourth and final score that counted for Notre Dame. Individual competitors Kevin Conners (E) and John Felitto (+1) also recorded solid rounds on the day.

Lastly, Tuesday will mark the third and final round of the Badger Invitational. Notre Dame sits in ninth place at 18-over par.
