NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s soccer team (3-1) is back home for a two game home stand starting this Thursday against Cincinnati. The Irish are looking to bounce back following their first lost of the season against Butler. Last season, the Irish were 5-0-1 in games following a loss.

SERIES HISTORY: BEARCATS
Notre Dame and Cincinnati will meet for the 16th time in program history as the two former BIG EAST foes face off Thursday night at Alumni Stadium. The Irish are 13-1-1 all-time against the Bearcats and have won the previous nine matchups. The last time these two schools squared off was Sept. 16, 2012 at Alumni and the Irish decisively defeated the Bearcats 7-0. Seven different players scored for the Irish that afternoon, including three who scored their first career collegiate goals. This is the first time the Irish have faced an opponent from the American Athletic Conference since 2015 when they took on UConn in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
MOSS’ MOMENT DEFEATS STONY BROOK
Freshman Kelly Moss has been one of many newcomers to make an impact for the Irish in their first collegiate season. The Lumberton, N.J. native made her first career start against Stony Brook and made her presence felt in the opening minute of extra time. Moss made a run into the box towards the near post, connected with Jenna Winebrenner’s cross and volleyed it towards the far post for the game-winning goal. Moss is one of three freshmen to score their first collegiate goal this season. (VanDyck vs. CMU, Wingate at Butler).
LITTMAN LIMITS SEAWOLVES
Junior Brooke Littman got her second start of the season in net against Stony Brook and it was her best performance of the young season. The Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. native held the Seawolves scoreless for all 91 minutes and made two saves en route to her fifth career shutout. Littman has only allowed one goal in 181 minutes of action this season.

The Irish will finish off the two-game homestand with a Sunday matinee matchup with Ohio State. Sunday’s match with the Buckeyes will begin at 1 pm ET and be aired on the ACC Network Extra.
