Irish Swim and Dive Jumps In TYR Top-25 Poll

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — After an undefeated weekend at Georgia Tech, the Irish swim and dive program have jumped in the TYR Top-25 rankings as announced by the Collegiate Swim Coaches Association of America this morning (October 24). Both teams moved up five spots in the most recent polls, with the women ranked 13 in the nation and the men advancing to 18th.

Last Saturday the women defeated both Georgia Tech (200-60) and Miami (200-59) while the men narrowly edged out the Yellow Jackets (132-130) for their first win of the season. At the meet, the women finished first overall in all but three events while the men took the top spot in seven events.

Sophomores Lindsay Stone and Zach Yeadon dominated the 1650 free in their respective races, posting some of the nation’s best times. Yeadon’s time of 15:17.10 is an NCAA-best time in the mile event, while Stone touched the wall in 16:38.71 for the second best time in the NCAA.

The Irish host their first meet of the season as the Purdue Boilermakers travel north for in-state competition. The Boilermaker men are also ranked this week, rounding out the top-25 (25th).
