Men’s Golf to Conclude Fall Slate with Quail Valley Collegiate

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s golf team will conclude its fall schedule with the Quail Valley Collegiate in Vero Beach, Florida, starting on Sunday, Oct. 14. The three-day tournament will feature one round per day, beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET, at the Quail Valley Golf Club. The course plays as a 7,350-yard, par-72.

THE FIELD
Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State, Jacksonville, Lipscomb, Louisiana-Monroe, Maryland, McNeese, Memphis, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Florida, Notre Dame, Sam Houston State, South Florida and Texas State.
 
HISTORY
The Quail Valley Collegiate began in 2013 with Louisiana-Monroe winning the inaugural title. Since, North Florida, Michigan State (2x), North Texas and South Florida have won the tournament title.
 
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
Notre Dame will play its final fall tournament just six days after completing its home tournament in the Fighting Irish Classic. There, the Irish placed fifth in a strong 15-team field, shooting 14-under par as a team. Individual competitor John Felitto recorded a program 54-hole low of 13-under par, finishing in third place.
 
Of those Irish golfers who have played in all four fall tournaments, Davis Chatfield boasts the lowest average at 71.0 strokes per round. The sophomore’s best finish was a fourth place showing at the Northern Intercollegiate.
 
Freshman Andrew O’Leary and senior Miguel Delgado each average below 72 strokes per round as well.
