NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s tennis team will take the courts of the Eck Tennis Pavilion on Sunday when the Irish welcome Indiana for a non-conference matchup.

On The Hoosiers

  • The Hoosiers enter the weekend with a 7-2 mark on the season, with their only losses coming against ranked opponents Illinois and Kentucky. Indiana will face Memphis at home Friday before traveling to face the Irish on Sunday.
  • Keivon Tabrizi and Raheel Manji are ranked 31st in the most recent Oracle/ITA Division I Men’s Tennis Doubles rankings.
  • Notre Dame is 42-29 all-time against Indiana and 1-0 under Callaghan Family Head Men’s Tennis Coach Ryan Sachire. The Irish defeated the Hoosiers 5-2 last season at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.

Last Time Out

The Irish opened the Atlantic Coast Conference season last Saturday with a 7-0 win over Boston College at the Eck Tennis Pavilion. On Sunday, Notre Dame hosted No. 17 Illinois and Detroit Mercy in a doubleheader, falling in a close 5-2 match to the Illini before bouncing back for a 7-0 win over the Titans.

On The Horizon

Seniors Josh Hagar and Eddy Covalschi are both one doubles win away from 60 in their careers. Sophomore Daniel Rayl is also one win away from reaching 25 career singles victories. Hagar is three singles victories away from his 70th career win.

Rankings Rundown

Notre Dame remains second in the receiving votes category of the most recent Oracle/ITA Division I Men’s Tennis Rankings. The Irish also boast two players in the individual rankings. Seniors Josh Hagar and Eddy Covalschi jumped four spots to No. 6 in the national doubles rankings, having gone 15-4 on the season, including 5-1 in dual play this spring. Hagar dropped to No. 34 in the national singles rankings, with a 3-3 record in dual competition.
