NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Winning all but one of Friday’s six events to start the Shamrock Invitational put the Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team in control of the four-team field at the Rolfs Aquatic Center. The event wraps up Saturday (Jan. 24) with two sessions, the first beginning at 10:00 a.m. (ET). Live stats and complete coverage is available at UND.com.

Notre Dame leads Denver (73-34), Michigan State (83-27) and West Virginia (81-28).

200 Free Relay: Setting the pace for the evening was the first-place squad of Amywren Miller, Delia Cronin, Kellyn Kuhlke and Amy Prestinario (1:34.18) … they finished over one second ahead of West Virginia’s silver relay team.

500 Free: Fourth overall was Lauren Sylvester (4:55.80) … she was trailed by Claire Hutchinson (4:56.14), who was fifth, and seventh-place Casey Wagner (4:58.53).

200 Individual Medley: Topping the pack was Notre Dame’s Megan Farrell (2:03.73) … Prestinario (2:06.74), Ashlee Edgell (2:06.79) and Emily Barton finished behind a pair of Pioneers.

50 Free: Miller shot across in 23.02, her fastest time of the season … the effort led the 34-person field.

3-meter Diving: Natalie Stitt posted 307.05 points for first … Heidi Grossman’s 291.10 was enough for second.

400 Medley Relay: Winning by over four seconds was the tandem of Maggie Behrens, Samantha Maxwell, Katie Casey and Miller (3:46.14).
