TAKING AIM AT ANOTHER TITLE – The top-ranked Notre Dame women’s soccer team (18-0-1, 10-0-1 BIG EAST) recently won its 10 BIG EAST regular-season title in the past 12 seasons (all but ’98 and ’02) and now is two wins away from the program’s ninth BIG EAST tournament title (’95-’01, ’04) … the Irish face Marquette in the first semifinal on Friday, Nov. 3 at UConn’s Morrone Stadium (4:30/live on ESPN-U) … the game will be a rematch of the 2005 semifinal won 3-0 by the Irish (at MU’s Valley Fields) … that game avenged a loss earlier in the season at Marquette … since that loss to the Golden Eagles, ND has gone 31-1-1 (21-0-1 vs. BIG EAST teams) while compiling a 122-11 scoring margin in that 33-game span … the Irish are 9-1-0 in previous BIG EAST semifinals games and 8-1-0 in championship games (25-2-0/.926 overall in the BIG EAST Tournament).
