Monogram Club Annual Meeting Offers Plenty of Family Fun

March 17, 2008

The Monogram Club’s Annual Meeting will offer a full slate of activities for members and their families during the April 17-19 gathering on campus.

The weekend begins at 5:30 p.m. April 17 in the Joyce Center Concourse with a Mass dedicated to the Monogram Club’s deceased members.

Following Mass, former head football coach Lou Holtz will be honored with the Club’s Moose Krause Distinguished Service Award during the annual meeting and dinner. The Club will also award honorary monograms and introduce its newest board members.

The Monogram Club Board will meet all day Friday, but other Club members can play golf at the Warren or Burke campus courses. Beginning March 21, Monogram Club members can book tee times by calling 574-631-4653 (Warren) or 574-631-6425 (Burke). Times will be reserved on a first come, first served basis.

At 4 p.m. Friday, the nationally-ranked Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team will entertain Quinnipiac at School Field, located just a few miles south of campus off Eddy Street (because of construction on the new athletic facilities located behind the Joyce Center).

Former football players can attend the Blue-Gold Football Alumni Dinner at 6 p.m. Friday at the Joyce Center Arena. The Notre Dame swimming and diving teams will celebrate their 50th anniversary for men and 25th anniversary for women with a 6 p.m. Mass in Keenan-Stanford Hall, followed by a 7 p.m. dinner in the South Dining Hall.

On Saturday, the swimmers will host a reunion alumni meet at 9 a.m. at the Rolfs Pool followed by a tailgate.

The Blue-Gold Fan Fest will take place in the Joyce Parking Lot from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., while the Monogram Club Tailgate will run from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on the Jordan Science Building Lawn.

Football alumni can take part in the Alumni breakfast in the Stadium visitors’ locker room at 10 a.m. They can also participate in the Football Alumni Flag Football Game in the Stadium from 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the Stadium.

Kickoff for the Annual Blue-Gold Spring Football Game is set for 1:35 p.m.

The Monogram Club Mass will follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the football game in the tent on the Jordan Science Building Lawn.
