Monogram Club Announces 2014 Fall Schedule

MONOGRAM CLUB FALL 2014 SCHEDULE

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The new FieldTurf is complete, training camp is underway, and we are just a couple of weeks from the start of another Notre Dame football season. With that, the Monogram Club is excited to announce its 2014 fall schedule of events.

FRIDAY EVENTS

Once again, each Monogram Club football weekend will include a Friday night reception for all dues-paying football Monogram winners and senior football managers beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Schivarelli Football Players’ Lounge at Notre Dame Stadium. Individuals may bring up to four guests to the event, which features a selection of appetizers and a cash bar, as well as the opportunity to visit Notre Dame’s historic locker room and take photos with the legendary Play Like A Champion Today sign.

The Monogram Club also invites all dues-paying young alumni (Monogram winners that graduated between 2004-14) and one guest to the Friday evening reception on Aug. 29, the eve of the season opener against Rice. Additionally, all dues-paying Monogram winners and a guest are invited to attend the Friday reception on Nov. 14 prior to the game against Northwestern (look for RSVP details at a later date).

SATURDAY EVENTS

On each home football Saturday, the Club will host its pre-game reception and post-game Mass in the Monogram Room. The pre-game gathering begins three hours before kickoff, and Mass will be held 30 minutes after the conclusion of each game. All dues-paying Monogram winners are invited to bring up to five guests to enjoy complimentary tailgate food and a cash bar at the reception before the game.

Following each home contest, all Monogram winners are welcome to attend the Club’s post-game Mass, a perfect conclusion to a weekend of Notre Dame fellowship. (Note: Mass after the Michigan game will take place in Sports Heritage Hall. All are invited to join the Club for the special “midnight Mass.”).

PRE-GAME TUNNELS

Dues-paying Monogram winners will have the chance to form an on-field tunnel to welcome the football team into Notre Dame Stadium at two select home games during the season. Football Monogram winners and senior football managers will form the tunnel prior to the Stanford game on Oct. 4, while dues-paying Monogram winners from all other sports and programs will gather before the Northwestern game on Nov. 15.

In addition to these activities, there are a number other special events taking place throughout the 2014 season.

Rice: The Fighting Irish baseball team is hosting an alumni game on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Frank Eck Stadium. Baseball Monogram winners are invited to enjoy continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m., before taking batting practice, and playing on the new FieldTurf. First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. If you are interested in playing or have any questions, please contact director of baseball operations Tad Skelley.

The Notre Dame men’s and women’s swimming program will hold an alumni meet on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Thirty minutes after the football game, swimming alumni are invited to attend a reunion Mass and dinner in Club Naimoli at Purcell Pavilion. Cost is $50 plus a cash bar. Please RSVP to head coach Matt Tallman.

Michigan: On Friday, Sept. 5, the Lou’s Lads Foundation will host its 4th annual reunion and scholarship dinner with coach Lou Holtz at the Notre Dame Corporate Hospitality Village (next to the outdoor track). All former players, managers, and coaches from the Holtz era are invited to attend. To register, the LLF is asking that you please RSVP to admin@louslads.com.

Women’s lacrosse will also be holding an alumni weekend in conjunction with the football matchup against the Wolverines. All women’s lacrosse alumni who will be in town are invited to attend a career networking event with the current team. Stanford: The cross country/track & field program will host its annual Notre Dame Invitational beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 at the Notre Dame Golf Course, and will also honor longtime head coach Joe Piane with a pre-game retirement party tailgate at the Notre Dame Corporate Hospitality Village on Saturday from 12:30 – 3:00 p.m. Cost for the tailgate is $25 per person. Cheerleading alumni are also invited to take part in a program reunion during Stanford weekend. Festivities include a post-pep rally dinner in O’Brien’s at the Compton Family Ice Arena on Friday night, Saturday lunch in the Oak Room at South Dining Hall, and a step-off with the alumni marching band. Cheerleading Monogram winners are encouraged to RSVP online as soon as possible or to contact ndcheeralumni@gmail.com with any questions. Also during Stanford weekend, the 2004 women’s soccer squad will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its national championship victory. Rowing will support pancreatic cancer research with its annual erg-a-thon on Friday, and the team will hold an alumni row on Saturday morning. Men’s soccer will host an alumni weekend in conjunction with its game against Boston College on Friday beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Alumni Stadium. Other upcoming reunions include men’s basketball (North Carolina weekend) and softball (Northwestern weekend). Stay tuned for further details about these events in the coming weeks.

SHAMROCK SERIES

In addition to on-campus festivities, the Club will host a regional reception in Indianapolis, in conjunction with the Shamrock Series game against Purdue at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Monogram Club reception will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.

Rock Bottom is located in downtown Indianapolis, within walking distance to many of the other Notre Dame events taking place throughout the day, including the pre-game band concert at 4:45 p.m. on Pan Am Plaza.

The reception will feature a buffet of heavy appetizers and a cash bar. The event is free for dues-paying members, while additional guest tickets can be purchased for $20 (and $10 for children 12 and under).To RSVP for this event, click here.
