TULSA, Okla. — Another three-set thriller marked University of Notre Dame men’s tennis standout Quentin Monaghan’s run through the fall slate Friday, but the fifth-ranked senior found himself on the wrong side of another tight decision in the Round of 32 at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships.

Monaghan breezed through the first set, taking a 6-1 lead into the second over Auburn’s No. 76 Marko Krickovic, but the streaking Tiger — who earned entry into the main draw after tearing through the qualifying rounds — eked out his fifth straight win in the tournament, 1-6, 7-5, 7-5.

Monaghan and the Irish will return to action in two weeks when they host the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, October 22-26 at the Eck Tennis Center.
