Monaghan Falls In The Qualifying Quarterfinals of the ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. — Irish play continues in the 2013 ITA Men’s All-American Championships, hosted by the University of Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Center.

Sophomore Quentin Monaghan had his first match in the qualifying round of the tournament on Monday, Sept. 30, defeating Nick Naumann of Texas, 6-2, 6-2. He then played Uros Petronijevic of the University of San Diego on Tuesday afternoon, beating him, 7-5, 6-4, in order to advance to the quarterfinals of the qualifying round.

Monaghan fell this afternoon to Texas’s George Goldhoff, 7-5, 6-4, ending his play in the ITA All-American Championships.

The main draw of the tournament begins tomorrow at 9 a.m. Senior Greg Andrews will face South Carolina’s Tsvetan Mihov, and if he wins, he will advance to his next match later in the day at 1:30 p.m.
