Miles named AP All-America Honorable Mention

20th different Irish player to be named an AP All-American

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame freshman point guard Olivia Miles continues to add her name alongside Irish greats in just her first full season. The Associated Press announced on Wednesday that Miles received All-America Honorable Mention honors. She becomes the 20th different Irish player all-time to earn A.P. All-America distinction and the first since 2019.

Just add this special distinction along with her Nancy Lieberman Award Top-5 honor, which recognizes the top-5 point guards in the country. Notre Dame’s point guard ranks 2nd in the nation in assists per game, averaging 7.2/game. However, Miles is more than just stylish assists and great vision, she’s a dynamic playmaker.

Miles leads the fifth-seeded Irish in scoring (13.7), ranks 5th in the ACC in steals (1.9) and also reels in 5.5 boards/game. In addition, Miles and Iowa’s Caitlin Clark are the only players in the country averaging at least 13 points / 5 rebounds / 7 assists.

By the way, Miles boasts eight double-doubles on the year, which ranks 5th in the ACC. Of those eight, one of them is a triple-double, as Miles became just the 2nd Irish freshman in program history to do so.

Lastly, Miles became the fifth different Irish player to dish out over 200 assists in a season. She currently sits at 215.
