Message from the Executive Director

April 18, 2008

Please join me in offering hearty congratulations to Coach Jeff Jackson, his staff and the Notre Dame hockey team for their historic run to the Frozen Four this past weekend in Denver. Although the Irish came up short in the title game, their fans and the University could not have been prouder of their efforts and enthusiasm. Their poise and persistence, along with their can-do attitude, will serve as an inspiration to others on campus for years to come. The hockey team also excels off the ice – owning the highest team grade point average among men’s varsity sports. We salute them for their accomplishments.

The 2007-08 academic year is quickly coming to a close, but the Monogram Club has an especially busy few weeks ahead.

We’re looking forward to seeing many of you this weekend (April 17-19) at our annual meeting. Former Fighting Irish head coach Lou Holtz will receive the 2008 Moose Krause Distinguished Service Award at Thursday’s dinner. In addition, a new class of board members will be presented to Club members by the nominating committee. The nominees are Dr. Chuck Aragon, 1981, track; Jim Dee, 1984, baseball; Greg Dingens, 1986, football; Brian Short, 1972, swimming; and Kerrie Wagner, 1989, golf.

Plus, the weekend offers a slew of athletic activities and fun for the whole family as well as the annual Blue-Gold game.

This edition of Inside Irish Online also previews our Monogram Club Summer Party (May 28) and the 2008 Riehle Golf Open (May 29) and includes registration information.

For those of you traveling to campus this weekend, we wish you a safe journey. And for those of you who can’t make it, we’ll be thinking of you.

Thanks for your continued support of Notre Dame athletics. Go Irish.
