Men's Soccer Announces Spring Slate

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s soccer program and head coach Chad Riley announced the spring portion of the 2020-21 schedule, a slate that features eight regular season matches and a chance to compete for an NCAA Championship.

ACC HEAVY 
Six of Notre Dame’s eight regular season matches are against ACC teams. Four of the six ACC opponents finished the fall ranked in the top five teams in the country according to the United Soccer Coaches Poll (No. 1 Clemson, No. 2 Pitt, No. 3 Wake Forest & No. 4 Virginia Tech). The two non-conference games will be at Butler (Feb. 27) and at home against Calvin (March 16).

FOUR-MATCH HOME SLATE
The Irish will host four matches at Alumni Stadium this spring, including the season-opener, including the non-conference matchup against Calvin. The three ACC matches come against Wake Forest (March 20), North Carolina (March 27) and Virginia Tech (April 9).

ROAD WORK AHEAD
Notre Dame’s 2021 spring schedule features four road matches. After the Irish open the spring on the road at Butler the Irish will travel to play Virginia (March 7), Duke (March 12) and Pitt (April 3).

TOURNEY TIME
The 2021 ACC Spring Final will be played on April 14 with the winner set to play Clemson in the ACC Final on April 17 at Clemson, S.C. due to the fact that Clemson won the ACC Fall Final.

The NCAA Championships will be a 36-team format this season, with 24 automatic qualifiers and 12 at-large selections. NCAA selection is scheduled for April 25 with the tournament beginning on April 30. The College Cup will be held in Cary, N.C. between the dates of May 13-17.
