NOTRE DAME, Ind. – In the final regular-season home game of his career, Brendan Gleason scored a season-high five goals to lead the Irish to a 12-10 victory over UNC, earning him ACC Player of the Week status on Monday afternoon.
Gleason matched his career high for goals in a game with five scores and scooped up a ground ball against the Tar Heels. The five goals are tied for the most by an Irish player this season.
The accolade is the second weekly honor the senior has earned this season from the ACC, previously earning the honor after his performance in the win over Maryland.
Gleason has been a key cog in the Irish attack this season, totaling 33 points off 23 goals and 10 assists to rank second on the team in goals and points.
Gleason and the Irish will begin postseason play at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 27 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina against No. 2 Duke in the ACC Championship semifinal round. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU and can be streamed via the WatchESPN app or watchespn.com.
