Men's Lacrosse Earns APR Public Recognition Award

The Irish are one of just two DI programs to earn the honor and make the NCAA Championships

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team was one of 10 men’s lacrosse NCAA Division I programs to receive an Academic Progress Rating (APR) Public Recognition Award for outstanding academics.

The Irish and Penn are the only two DI men’s lacrosse teams to receive the award that are also playing in the NCAA Championships.

Notre Dame recorded an APR score of 995 out of a possible 1000.

The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each semester or academic term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport. Largely as a result of an increase in perfect scores, teams earning Public Recognition Awards increased to 1,328, up by 44 from the previous academic year.

APRs for programs in the top 10% ranged from 987 to a perfect 1,000, and the number of teams posting perfect scores increased to 1,214, marking an increase of 26 teams from last year.  Of the teams recognized, 471 competed in men’s or mixed sports, and 857 competed in women’s sports.

A total of 14 athletic programs at Notre Dame earned APR Public Recognition Awards.

The Atlantic Coast Conference led all Power 5 conferences with 92 teams earning APR Public Recognition Awards, with the Big Ten’s 67 marking the second-best mark among the Power 5. The Ivy League led all conferences with 95 Public Recognition Awards, while the Patriot League tied the ACC with 92.
