Irish Begin 2018-19 Season at Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wis. – The University of Notre Dame men’s golf team opened its 208-19 season on Sunday by competing in the first round of the Badger Invitational, on the University Ridge Golf Course. The Irish shot a 302 (+14) on the opening day and sit in a tie for eighth place.
 
Davis Lamb led the Irish with a 73 (+1), including an even-par back-nine. Lamb sits in a tie for 15th place, six strokes back from the current leader. Teammate Hunter Ostrom bounced back from a four-over par front nine by shooting one-under par on the back.
 
Andrew O’Leary contributed a score to Notre Dame’s team total in his first appearance in the Blue & Gold. The freshman carded two birdies and finished four-over par.
 
Miguel Delgado and Davis Chatfield rounded out the Irish starting five with a 78 and 80, respectively.
 
In addition, the Irish had three individuals compete in the field as well in Kevin Conners, John Felitto and Taichi Kho. Felitto topped the trio with a two-over par, followed closely by Kho’s three-over par.
