Irish Back in Action at Tar Heel Intercollegiate

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Looking to build off its third place finish at The Schenkel, the Notre Dame men’s golf team is set to tee off at the 2019 Tar Heel Intercollegiate on Saturday, March 23. The Fighting Irish will play 36 holes on Saturday, then finish up with the final round on Sunday.  
 
Saturday’s shotgun start begins at 8:30 a.m. ET, while Sunday’s traditional start kicks off at 8 a.m. Fans can follow the live scoring at golfstat.com.
 
The Course
The Tar Heel Collegiate will take place at the Finley Golf Course, which is a 7,242-yard, par 72.  
 
The Field
The 14-team field consists of #30 North Carolina, UNCW, UNCG, James Madison, Elon, Gardner-Webb, Mississippi State, Michigan, Michigan State, Kansas State, #24 Illinois, #13 North Florida, Georgia Southern and Notre Dame.  
 
The Irish Five
The Irish will be rolling with the same lineup they had at The Schenkel: Miguel Delgado, Davis Lamb, Andrew O’Leary, Ben Albin and Taichi Kho. In addition, Alex Jamieson will be competing as an individual. 
 
Last weekend, the Irish placed third overall with a three-under par, marking their third under-par tournament on the year. Delgado led the fivesome with a 212 (-4), earning his first top five finish on the year and the fourth of his career.
 
Freshman Andrew O’Leary posted his best finish at Notre Dame with a 213 (-3), resulting in a 7th place showing. Next, Davis Lamb rounded out the trio of top 15 finishes with a 215 (-1), 13th place showing.
