NOTRE DAME vs. CLEMSON – BY THE NUMBERS

1

Junior John Mooney leads all major conference players in rebounds per game in league action with a 12.1 average.

3

John Mooney is on pace to become the third Notre Dame player in the past four seasons to lead the ACC in rebounding in all games (currently at the top of the league with a 10.9 average). Zach Auguste (10.7, 2016) and Bonzie Colson (10.1, 2017) also led the ACC in rebounding. Should Mooney maintain his league-leading status, Notre Dame would become the first ACC program to have a player lead the league in rebounding three out of four seasons (and three out of six since ND joined the ACC) since Tim Duncan did it three straight years for Wake Forest from 1995-97.

4

Freshman Prentiss Hubb is fifth in the country in playing time for a true freshman from a major conference team (see page 7 for more).

7

Junior T.J. Gibbs is one of just seven major conference players in the country with an assist/turnover ratio at 3.00 or higher. Gibbs (3.00) is third in the ACC in assist/turnover ratio.

8

Prentiss Hubb has become the eighth true freshman since 1972-73 to dish out 100 or more assists (Hubb has 113 entering the Clemson game) in a season (see page 7 for more). He joins Chris Thomas, Tory Jackson and Eric Atkins as the fourth Brey-era guard to reach 100 (or more) assists in their rookie season.

9.6

With a 9.6 average, Notre Dame is sixth in the country in turnovers committed per game.

12

John Mooney has 12 double-doubles in ACC play this season – a mark that matches Brice Johnson (2015-16) for the second-most in the conference since 1996-97. Tim Duncan posted 15 double-doubles in league play that season (see page 5 for more).

13.9

Notre Dame is committing just 13.9 fouls per game – a mark that leads the country as of March 5. The Irish are ahead of Loyola Chicago and Siena. The closest major conference team is Michigan at fifth in the country with 14.1 fouls per game.

18

John Mooney leads the ACC (no other player has more than 11) and is tied for ninth in the country with 18 double-doubles (he is fourth in double-doubles among major conference players). He also paces the ACC in 10-rebound performances with 19 this season.

200

John Mooney is the latest in a long line of juniors to make a significant leap in statistical performance during their third year in the Notre Dame program. He is on pace to become the ninth player to increase his scoring (among other statistics) 200 points or more during their junior season. See page 12 for a full breakdown.

371

Wednesday will mark 371 days – just over one year – since sophomore D.J. Harvey’s microfracture surgery on February 28, 2018. The Bowie, Maryland, native has made a remarkable comeback – having started every game for the Irish in 2018-19 – he is third on the team in scoring (10.7) and is fourth in minutes played.

2,265

Minutes played by the Notre Dame freshman class (Robby Carmody, Chris Doherty, Dane Goodwin, Prentiss Hubb, Nate Laszewski) – the most for any rookie class in the Mike Brey era. It is the second-most at Notre Dame since freshmen became eligible in 1972-73.
