GREENSBORO, N.C. – As announced by the ACC on Friday morning, the Notre Dame cross country teams were ranked in the top three on both the men’s and women’s side in the preseason poll. The men’s team was voted second and the women’s team was voted third out the fifteen ACC teams.
The Notre Dame men’s cross country team enters into the 2022 season as the defending ACC Champions after claiming the conference title on their home course. Josh Methner and Matthew Carmody are among the top returners for the men’s side as they also bring in a lot of young talent.
On the women’s side, they return Maddy Denner and Olivia Markezich who earned All-ACC status after last season. The Irish women have placed in the top five at the ACC Championships in seven of the past eight seasons.
Notre Dame kicks off their season on Sept. 2 at the Valparaiso Winrow Open.
