MADISON, Wis. — The Notre Dame men’s tennis team concluded its fall season at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Region IV Championships in Madison, Wis., as junior Javier Taborga and freshman Luis Haddock-Morales reached the final 16 of singles. The fifth-seeded Taborga beat Northwestern’s Jamie Sahara 6-1, 6-4 in the third round before falling 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 6-4 to Michigan’s Henry Beam. Haddock-Morales defeated Louisville’s 12th-seeded Turtko Kujundzic 6-0, 1-0, retired, but lost his fourth-round match 6-1, 6-3 to Wisconsin’s fourth-seeded Danny Westerman. Irish junior and 19th-seed Aaron Talarico lost 6-4, 6-7 (7-4), 6-3 to Illinois’ Amer Delic in the third round.

In the doubles competition, top-seeded Taborga and Talarico lost in the second round 9-8 (10-8) to Minnesota’s Jonas Svensson and Tyson Parry. Haddock-Morales and junior Casey Smith lost 8-3 to Purdue’s Laith Al-Agba and Carl McCafferty in the second round.
