NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s swimming and diving team will play host to the Shamrock Invitational this weekend at the Rolfs Aquatic Center. The two-day event begins 6:00 p.m. (ET) Friday evening followed by a pair of sessions (10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.) on Saturday.

Notre Dame welcomes Iowa and Denver in the championship-format meet, which will be scored as a dual meet between each of the participating teams. Live results will be available at UND.com.

Notre Dame’s seniors will be honored before Saturday’s evening session.

“This is an excellent culmination of the regular season,” Irish head coach Tim Welsh said. “We’ve seen some great performances this year, but our best is yet to come. This meet should offer a preview of how far we’ve come since our training trip and how far we need to go before the BIG EAST Conference Championships.”

The Irish are coming off last week’s dual meet loss at Michigan State, but carry an overall record of 5-3 into the weekend.

At the 2010 edition of the Shamrock Invitational, Notre Dame handed Denver a 245-124 defeat as Iowa got the best of the Irish, 197-171.
