NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Mark De Feyter has been named assistant men’s soccer coach at the University of Notre Dame it was announced today by Irish head coach Mike Berticelli. It is the second such stint at the University for De Feyter who also was a member of the Notre Dame men’s soccer coaching staff during the 1995-96 school year.

De Feyter, a native of Holland, Mich., has served since 1996 as an admissions counselor at Holland College, his alma mater. He replaces Mike Parsons, a seven-year assistant for the Irish, who recently resigned to enter private business.

De Feyter’s duties will handle various administrative duties of the program, including coordinating team travel and assisting with daily practices preparations, scouting and recruiting.

While at Notre Dame during the 1995-96 school year, De Feyter assisted with recruiting and scheduling and implemented individual training programs for team members. He also supervised the summer soccer camps program and coordinated the National Soccer Coaches Clinic which is held annually at Notre Dame.

A 1995 graduate from Holland College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in language arts, De Feyter, served from 1993-95 as an assistant on the men’s soccer staff at the school. He also was a sales associate for soccer products for Gazelle Sports in Holland for two years.

“We are very pleased to have Mark back return as a member of the Notre Dame men’s soccer program in a full-time capacity,” Berticelli says. “He brings outstanding administrative and organizational skills. He will be a tremendous asset in our recruitment efforts as well as in the development of our players. Mark is an extremely dedicated individual and we are happy that he has chosen to come back to Notre Dame.”
