Men's Soccer Game Vs. Michigan State Tentatively Rescheduled For Wednesday

The University of Notre Dame men’s soccer match with Michigan State, scheduled for Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. been tentatively moved to Wednesday, Nov. 3, for 7:00 p.m.

The final decision for the match to be played or not will be made sometime on Tuesday. The decision will be released on www.und.com and the Notre Dame Sports Hotline (574-631-3000) also be updated with the information.

In other Irish men’s soccer news, freshman John Mousinho was named the co-BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 2. Mousinho scored an insurance goal late in the match last Saturday against Connecticut, providing the final score in a 2-0 victory. Notre Dame claimed its first-ever eight-win BIG EAST campaign with the victory. The award is the first conference weekly accolade of Mousinho’s career.

The BIG EAST Men’s Soccer Championship field has also been set. Notre Dame, the regular-season champion, has earned the first seed, followed by St. John’s, Boston College and Villanova. All four teams will host a first-round quarterfinal match on Saturday, Nov. 6. Georgetown, Seton Hall, West Virginia and Connecticut complete the tournament field, though the final order is yet to be determined. Connecticut still has a conference match remaining on its schedule at Providence on Tuesday, Nov. 2. A UConn victory will push the Huskies into seventh place, dropping Seton Hall into eighth place.

The eighth place team will face Notre Dame at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6.
